SELANGOR Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) has inked a strategic partnership with Aerodyne Group to develop specialised skills training, aimed at developing drone and data experts in Selangor.
The drone solution provider will provide expertise in drone and data technology and drive digital transformation for the Selangor State TVET (Technical, Vocational, Education and Training) Institution.
According to Menteri Besar Selangor, Amirudin Shari, the collaboration covers two areas: Capability development of STDC as an industry driven TVET centre and career onboarding programme.
“The first involves technical knowledge transfer, industry driven curriculum enhancement and ‘train-the-trainer series,’ upgrading of equipment and facilities, including the setup of an agriculture drone centre of excellence in Kuala Selangor.
“The onboarding programme will enable Selangor youths to be trained in drone and data technology to aid with digital transformation, thereby creating employment opportunities in drone services such as drone pilots and data analysts,” said Amirudin.
“As a home-grown company, we are excited to play a key role in expanding human capacity development here in Malaysia in partnership with STDC,” said Kamarul Muhamed, Aerodyne’s founder and group CEO.
“As digital transformation changes the way people work, we believe that this is the right time for Malaysian talents to be trained for the jobs of the future.”
The partnership programme took place between Nov 2020 and April 2021. Going forward, Aerodyne will focus on the development of an agricultural drone centre or excellence.
