“At Sunway, we continuously prioritise digital innovation by investing in talent, resources and infrastructure to ensure the group remains sustainable, resilient and relevant to the ever-changing environment,” he added.

Sunway Group’s chief information officer, Kevin Khoo, said working closely with Huawei will allow them to co-engineer and co-build new digital service initiatives for Sunway which are in alignment with the its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as well as the its environmental, social and governance goals

“We look forward to seeing the innovative outcome of this collaboration and how it will fuel Sunway’s thriving ecosystem,” said Khoo.

Huawei Malaysia’s chief executive officer Michael Yuan said that Huawei is well positioned to provide the technical assistance and guidance for Sunway Group to transform into a digital conglomerate.

“This Sunway Digital Innovation Programme is certainly the right move, as digitalisation will make the organisation more relevant and more competitive than ever before in this digital age.”

Believing that partnership is key to digitalisation, Yuan said that Huawei remains committed to working with customers and partners to integrate core business scenarios with ICT technologies, and to accelerate industrial digitalisation as well as upgrades through scenario-specific, innovative solutions.
