WECHAT Pay MY, a mobile payment solution, has introduced its Smart Order service. The new digitised ordering is aimed at making hangout sessions at favourite ‘mamak’ joints seamless and effortless.

Since its introduction in Malaysia in 2018, WeChat Pay MY has been working to provide Malaysians with an application that is strongly focused on user experience.

After showcasing a host of payment service solutions that integrate seamlessly into users’ lifestyles, WeChat Pay MY is now delivering on that promise by bringing the Smart Order service to life.

Smart Order is a practical and convenient way for mamak outlets to serve their clientele.

Customers can order food from the in-app menu and pay for it directly. The food will then be served by the waiters, shortening order times and increasing efficiency.

“Mamaks in Malaysia have always been an area rife for cash disruption, and through Smart Order, WeChat Pay MY is hoping to take the lead and be the pioneer in heightening the ‘mamak’ experience for customers,” said WeChat Pay MY chief executive officer Jason Siew.

He further added that the goal is to allow WeChat Pay users to avoid having to wait for a waiter, or in long lines for food. Instead, orders and payments can be made via the WeChat Pay app.

This will sequentially give users more opportunities to use WeChat Pay MY for easier and more seamless payment transactions.

The Smart Order service will be available in participating merchants around Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang.
