EMC names Sumash Singh as MD of Malaysian ops

EMC Corp has announced the appointment of Sumash Singh (pic above) as managing director of EMC Malaysia.
He has over two decades of experience in enterprise IT, cultivated from varied positions ranging from IT engineering to sales and senior leadership roles, EMC said in a statement.
He spent 10 years in EMC previously, even leading its Data Protection Solutions Division in South Africa. Prior to his new role heading up EMC Malaysia, he was the country manager for CommVault in South Africa.
“Sumash is no stranger to our operations, and we are excited about what he brings to the table,” said EMC South-East Asia president Paul Henaghan.
“We are confident that his extensive experience and familiarity with EMC will enable him to assimilate quickly.
“Using his proven capabilities and industry expertise, Sumash will play a pivotal role in enabling our customers and partners in Malaysia to lead in the implementation of agile and efficient cloud-based solutions,” he added.
Sumash said, “Malaysia’s continued business dynamism and fast-changing business landscape – spurred by the Trans-Pacific Partnership and Asean Economic Community – are all great opportunities for businesses to tap into in 2016 and beyond.”
