EGuardian and McAfee team up to bring security solutions to SEA

• Partnership inked between EGuardian and McAfee to deliver security technologies to customers in SEA
• Plans to offer McAfee’s complete range of solutions for SMEs and large organizations

EGUARDIAN, a value added distributor of technology products and services in South-East Asia, has announced a partnership agreement to deliver McAfee’s security technologies to customers in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
 
In an effort to equip large organizations as well as small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) against cyber threats, EGuardian will offer McAfee’s enterprise grade, cloud-based anti-virus platform for business users in the region as Security-as-a-Service (SaaS).

We chose McAfee as our security technology partner to power our Security-as-a-Service Platform because of their leadership in delivering proactive and proven security solutions," said chief executive officer of EGuardian, Kaiyang Cai.
 
The threat landscape is increasing in severity and nearly 72% of data breaches were at companies with fewer than 100 employees. The trend of targeting SMBs is ever increasing, a major concern for a region where this sector is paramount for economic growth and employment.
 
Therefore, the big challenge facing fast-developing organizations in South-East Asia is to ensure secure business operations, reduction of upfront costs, simplified deployment as well as management and maintenance.
 
Offering SaaS addresses the urgent demands of organizations for security offerings that can be easily deployed with a measurable return on investment while minimizing system migration impact.
 
Wahab Yusoff, McAfee vice president for South Asia, said the partnership is part of the company’s objective to make its security solutions accessible to companies in the fast growing economies across the region.
 
“With the quickly changing threat landscape, we are confident that this partnership will deliver best-in-breed technology combined with local market understanding and on-the-ground support, offering effective and efficient security protection solutions,” he added.
 
According to EGuardian, over 120 staff support this customized solution, with local language support across the region, local infrastructure and in-country scanning for email and web traffic.
 
The McAfee-powered integrated security management solution consists of anti-malware, desktop firewall protection, and browser protection.
 
EGuardian plans to offer McAfee’s complete range of market leading business and technology solutions for small, mid-sized and large organizations across the whole spectrum of security and risk management, including data protection, database security, email and web security, endpoint protection, mobile security, and SaaS.
