Dell announces ‘Dropbox for Business’

• Harness productivity gains of Dropbox while maintaining IT control and data visibility

DELL has announced a strategic partnership with Dropbox to help commercial customers meet the needs of today’s evolving workplace and employees’ expectations for easy anywhere, anytime access to data.
 
To help customers harness the employee productivity gains Dropbox offers while maintaining IT control and visibility of data, Dell will be offering Dropbox for Business via its global sales organisation.
 
This would allow customers to provide their employees with a secure enterprise file-sharing and collaboration solution, along with their new Dell products, the company said in a statement.
 
“Dropbox is one of the most innovative and fastest growing startups, and the most popular solution of its kind,” said Brett Hansen, executive director of end-user computing software at Dell.
 
“Now through Dell’s global sales team, Dropbox and Dell can help organisations of all sizes embrace the consumerisation of IT while protecting company data,” he added.
 
The company said it now offers Dropbox for Business plus Dell Data Protection| Cloud, part of the Dell Data Protection solutions portfolio, to let employees use their favourite cloud storage application at work and provide IT departments with a broader range of controls to meet even the most stringent compliance and regulatory requirements.
