  • Grand Award for HR Leader goes to IBM Malaysia HR director Kenneth Ho

TWO technology companies won gold awards as employers of choice at the Malaysia HR (Human Resource) Awards, edged out by ‘grand award’ winner Shell Business Service Centre Sdn Bhd.

The Gold Award winners for the same category went to T-Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd and IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM) and jointly presented by online recruitment portal JobStreet.com, the annual awards recognise the standards and capabilities achieved by organisations in all aspects of HR.

Winning companies at the Malaysia HR Awards, now in its 13th year, are determined and selected based on an evaluation done over three stages by different groups of judges. The final judging stage involves chief executive officers, JobStreet.com said in a statement.

This year’s awards comprised five categories: Employer of Choice Award, HR Leader Award, SME Best Employer Award, MSC Malaysia HR Innovation Award and HR Manager Award.

Based in Cyberjaya, the Shell Business Service Centre, with a workforce of about 2,000 employees, was recognised for developing and implementing an innovative HR programme in which different age and ethnicity, backgrounds and perspectives are connected to create stronger business value for Shell operations worldwide, JobStreet.com said.

IBM Malaysia and T-Systems Malaysia received their Gold Awards for taking steps to infuse both innovation and technology that improve internal engagement and collaboration.
