Janet Yap now country managing director for Accenture in Malaysia

GLOBAL management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture has announced the appointment of Janet Yap (pic) as its new country managing director in Malaysia.
Yap, whose appointment was effective June 1, will be responsible for enhancing the company’s business here, Accenture said in a statement.
“Our clients are constantly adapting and evolving in this fast-paced business environment, and we respond by providing innovative solutions to help them meet their business needs,” said Yap.
“I’m looking forward to strengthening Accenture’s relationship with them – and to continuing to invest in our employees, who embody our culture of innovation, collaboration and value creation,” she added.
Yap has been part of the Accenture team for 26 years. She built her career in systems implementation and SAP consulting through projects across the resources, products and communications, media and technology industries in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
One of the few women technology leaders in Malaysia, Yap is also the inclusion and diversity lead for the Accenture office in Malaysia, the company said.
Yap graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Guelph in Canada.
A techie at heart, she is an avid user of all social media platforms and enjoys testing and discovering ingenious apps on her phone, Accenture said.
Accenture employs approximately 293,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries. The company generated net revenues of US$28.6 billion for the fiscal year ending Aug 31, 2013.
