SOUTH Africa-headquartered Dimension Data has announced key senior executive appointments, including the promotion of Henrick Choo (pic) to the newly-created role of chief operating officer (COO).
Choo joined Dimension Data Malaysia in 2006 and most recently served as head of sales, the company said in a statement.
In his new role, he will lead the sales, business, and services units focussing on operational excellence, and increasing sales growth and profitability.
He has more than 20 years of extensive sales experience in the ICT services industry, and started in Dimension Data as a client manager. Prior to joining Dimension Data, he was responsible for leading the overall sales strategy and execution at companies such as IBM, Oracle and BMC.
“Henrick [Choo] has been a key contributor to the growth of Dimension Data Malaysia over the past year and [with him] as COO, I am assured that the company is in an even better position for our stage of success,” said Dimension Data Malaysia managing director Chong Hoi Ming.
With Choo’s new role, Alex Loh (pic) has been promoted to replace him as Dimension Data Malaysia’s head of sales. He was previously head of its Solutions Development Group & Alliances and Cloud.
In his new role, he will assume full responsibility for driving sales targets, creating go-to-market strategies and aligning sales resources to market demands and the company’s strategy.
He will report to the new COO Choo, and Dimension Data Asia Pacific head of sales Wong Wen Ming.
Loh comes with nearly 17 years’ experience in the IT industry, 12 of them with Dimension Data where he first joined as senior engineer for project management.
Finally, Dimension Data Malaysia also promoted Kevin Siow (pic) as to head of Business Units & Alliance.
Siow joined the company in 2000 – his first employer – as a presales engineer and most recently served as sales director for its financial services industry (FSI), manufacturing and public sector businesses.
“There’s no doubt that his stellar work performance and drive to shatter sales targets has been a huge milestone in his promotion,” said Chong.
“His teamwork and foresight has definitely made a huge impact seeing how FSI and manufacturing are the biggest contributing sectors to Dimension Data Malaysia’s revenue,” he added.
Siow will report to Loh above and regionally to Dimension Data Asia Pacific chief technology officer Andy Cocks.
