- Soft launched in August, built on Shopify Plus e-commerce platform
- Promises Philips in-store experience from the comfort of your home
PHILIPS Malaysia’s Blip.my online store has recorded 15,000 unique visitors, together with 300 account registrations and sales valued at RM30,000 (US$8,960) since its soft launch in August, according to a spokesperson.
With its official launch on Nov 25, Blip.my is targeting to hit between 15,000 and 20,000 account registrations, and sales amounting to RM7 million to RM10 million (US$2.1 million to US$3 million) by the end of December, 2015.
At a media event in Kuala Lumpur to officially announce its partnership with Xtrategize to launch the store, Philips Malaysia noted that Blip.my offers only Philips products.
Malaysians can enjoy the Philips in-store experience from the comfort of home or on the move, without the usual drawbacks of online shopping, the two companies said in a statement.
Xtrategize, a Malaysian strategic consulting and technology firm, is in charge of the development and management of the Blip.my store, while Philips is in charge of stock and merchandise.
“With Blip.my, we aim to continue building our relationship with Malaysians who trust the Philips brand and to introduce our philosophy of innovation for improving lives to those who are new to the Philips brand,” said Muhammad Ali Jaleel, country manager for Philips Group of Companies in Malaysia and general manager of consumer lifestyle for Philips Malaysia.
“Blip.my has been benchmarked as a trustworthy, secure online store that provides customers with only high-quality, authentic Philips products. We are working hand in hand with Xtrategize to ensure that customers have the confidence that they’re getting the same standards of product experience as they would get from walking into a Philips physical retail store or distributor store,” he added.
Blip.my is hosted on Shopify Plus e-commerce platform, which powers over 120,000 online stores worldwide and is equipped to be used by large companies that have high volumes of customers, Philips Malaysia said.
Shopify Plus is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant and provides annual on-site compliance assessments and continuous risk managements. Constant upgrades and installation of new features are done automatically –without interruptions and downtime that could affect a customer’s browsing experience.
“We chose Shopify Plus to be the platform for Blip.my because it is extremely scalable,” said Xtrategize cofounder and chief financial officer Tony Ong.
“The Shopify platform has evolved with the recent addition of a POS (point of sale) system and mobile commerce solution, allowing Blip.my to be compatible with today’s browsers and mobile devices,” he added.
Blip.my is also integrated with the iPay88 payment engine to process transactions from debit or credit cards and bank transfers.
