SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics has unveiled what it claimed was the world’s first curved UHD television.
The 65-inch TV features a curved design with Samsung’s UHD (Ultra High Definition) technology for what the company described in a statement as “the ultimate immersive viewing experience.”
“This is a big year for entertainment and the new curved UHD TVs will change the way the world views TVs,” said Lee Dong Yong, Samsung Malaysia Electronics president.
Samsung said the curved screen gives viewers a stronger presence not felt on flat screens, plus a wider field of view that creates a panoramic effect that makes the display seem bigger than it actually is.
The curved design enables a more realistic and true-to-life viewing experience even in different viewing positions, so everyone watching has the best seat in the house, the company claimed.
The UHD TVs provide crisp picture quality because they have four times the resolution and pixels of Full HD. Additionally, all UHD TVs feature UHD Upscaling, which enhance the images and gives users great picture quality regardless of source material, Samsung said.
