SAP appoints Scott Russell as Asia Pacific COO

• 20yr industry veteran previously served in regional positions with IBM and PwC
• To oversee regional ops, from business innovation to sales operation and execution

SAP Asia Pacific Japan has announced the appointment of Scott Russell (pic) as chief operating officer (COO) for its Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region.
 
As COO, Russell will be responsible for the successful operation of SAP’s entire APJ business – from business innovation to sales operation and execution, the company said in a statement.
 
Based in Singapore, he will report to Adaire Fox-Martin, president of SAP APJ.
 
“SAP has been in the APJ region for the last 25 years, helping our customers run better in this fast growing region,” said Fox-Martin.
 
“Scott’s appointment will provide the leadership to build a world class operation that scales with our strong growth trajectory. His proven track record of driving business simplification, value and efficiency for long-term growth makes him the ideal leader to support SAP’s growth and momentum in the APJ market.”
 
Russell has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry spanning software, cloud and services. He was most recently senior vice president for SAP Services business, driving its Cloud Services, Consulting, Custom Development, Education, and Premium Engagement portfolio in the region.
 
Prior to SAP, he had been in senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific with IBM and PwC providing enterprise solutions to clients within the insurance, transportation, retail, industrial, banking and wealth management sectors.
