VADS partners with Parallels to expand the cloud to SMEs in Malaysia

  • Follows similar announcement by Parallels with Singapore’s StarHub
  • VADS to deploy Parallels’ Automation; automatic provisioning of Office 365

VADS Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), has announced its partnership with hosting and cloud services enablement provider Parallels Inc to further expand VADS’ cloud services offerings in the country.

This follows in the wake of a similar partnership that the US company announced with Singapore’s second biggest telco, StarHub, earlier this month.

The collaboration with VADS includes deployment of Parallels’ Automation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, which would enable the Malaysian company to deliver cloud services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country, VADS said in a statement.

The Automation solution has enabled VADS to implement automatic provisioning of Microsoft Office 365, eliminating inefficiencies from paperwork movement between internal departments for provisioning of cloud services.

This as a result reduces the high risk of errors from traditional processes, providing end customers with an enhanced service experience, VADS said in a statement.

VADS partners with Parallels to expand the cloud to SMEs in Malaysia“Our customers are looking to leverage on products in the cloud, such as Microsoft Office 365, and they want to be able to use the services immediately upon request,” said VADS chief executive officer Ahmad Azhar Yahya (pic).

“Our partnership with Parallels not only enables us to implement a solution that delivers speedy provisioning and billing of the Office 365 platform, it also allows us to bundle it with any additional cloud services that we plan to offer in the future,” he added.

VADS said this was part of its strategy to further strengthen its cloud services and for its business expansion in Malaysia. The move also helps the company future-proof its IT infrastructure to cater to the escalating cloud demand from its rapidly growing portfolio of SME customers, it claimed.

“SMEs are looking for opportunities to expand their businesses in the fastest, most cost-efficient way possible,” said Pavel Ershov, vice president, Service Providers Business, Parallels Asia Pacific and Japan.

“VADS is an innovative company that understands the ‘pain points’ of SMEs in Malaysia, and by using Parallels Automation, it underscores VADS’ reputation as a leading provider of cutting-edge technology and communications solutions and services that SMBs find critical in realising their business objectives – without having to make huge investments,” he said.
