INTERNET TV service provider iflix Group announced it has surpassed one million members, six months after launch.
“Having launched our service just six months ago, I am humbled by the incredible support we have received from the industry, our partners, and most importantly our more than one million customers,” said chief executive officer Mark Britt (pic above).
This follows on a succession of milestones and collaborations, including the recent announcement of a partnership with Telekom Malaysia (TM) to offer all UniFi and Streamyx customers 12-month iflix subscriptions at no charge, sponsored by TM.
The company also recently launched its ‘Download & Watch Offline’ feature, allowing members to download shows to their device for viewing even when they are offline.
Meanwhile, the company also welcomed telco and media industry expert David Goldstein as special advisor.
Goldstein has over 20 years’ experience in the media, pay TV, telecommunications and IT industries, having previously worked in senior executive positions with companies such as Nexmedia, Telstra, Swisscom, DiGi, Schlumberger and Khazanah Nasional.
He also currently serves as advisor to Axiata, one of Asia’s largest telecommunications companies, iflix said in a statement.
Goldstein (pic) graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy. He also holds a postgraduate degree in International Relations/Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
He will work directly with chief executive officer Britt to drive the company’s telco strategy and integration in both existing and new markets.
“iflix has already demonstrated itself as a highly innovative, pioneer in the OTT (over-the-top) space in South-East Asia,” said Goldstein.
“I am very pleased to be able to work closely with this exceptional team as they continue their extraordinary growth,” he added.
