LinkedIn APAC chief joins PropertyGuru as president

• Hari Krishnan was LinkedIn’s first employee in Asia
• Taking on newly-created role at online property portal

SINGAPORE-headquartered online property company PropertyGuru Group has announce the appointment of Hari Krishnan (pic above) as president and chief business officer, effective Jan 1, 2016.
 
In this newly-created role, he will focus on leading and accelerating regional business growth initiatives, with country managers and sales enablement teams in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia reporting directly to him, PropertyGuru said in a statement.
 
He is currently the Asia Pacific managing director at LinkedIn, where he leads more than 1,000 employees across 10 offices.

“I am … delighted to welcome such a seasoned executive such as Hari to lead all our business activities regionally,” said PropertyGuru Group chief executive officer and cofounder Steve Melhuish.

Hari joined LinkedIn as its first employee in Asia in 2009, and was its country manager for India before he was promoted to his current position. He brings with him more than 15 years of industry experience.
 
Prior to LinkedIn, he had worked in leadership positions in companies such as Fox Interactive Media, Yahoo! and Cisco. He was also the vice president for Product Management & Marketing at Travelguru during the initial rapid growth period for the Indian online travel industry.

Hari was recognised with the ‘Distinguished Alumni’ award from his engineering college within the University of Mumbai and was on Business Today’s list of ‘India's Hottest Young Executives.’
 
He is a frequent speaker at INSEAD and Singapore Management University (SMU) and was the 2015 MBA commencement ceremony keynote speaker at the SP Jain School of Global Management.
 
He sits on the board for U2opia Mobile, a privately-held mobile applications company and the Singapore chapter of TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), a not-for-profit organisation focused on fostering entrepreneurship.
 
Hari holds an MBA in General Management & Finance from INSEAD and an MSc in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
