MICROSOFT Malaysia has announced the appointment of Michal Golebiewski (pic above) as its new chief marketing and operations officer.
He replaces Rukmani Subramaniam, who returned to corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington after being promoted to director of business management, Worldwide Specialist Sales.
In his new role, Golebiewski will lead the entire span of the marketing and operations functions of the subsidiary, the company said in a statement.
This is an area that he is well acquainted with, after having led various divisions within the marketing and operations team over the last 19 years in Microsoft Poland and Romania, including leading the Server and Tools Business, as well as the Customer and Partner Experience and Business Planning Operations function in Microsoft Poland.
He was also chief marketing and operations officer of Microsoft Romania, his role prior to joining the Malaysian subsidiary.
“After five wonderful years in Romania … it’s now time to take the next step, to take on new challenges in other areas and market conditions,” said Golebiewski.
“I’m very excited to be in Malaysia to continue transforming the business, to deliver results and develop people while driving revenue, reaching customers with right business values, and increasing the cloud and devices market share,” he added.
Reporting to Microsoft Malaysia managing director K. Raman, Golebiewski will also play a key leadership role in directing and managing the overall business and marketing strategy as well as execution in Malaysia.
He will oversee product marketing groups, marketing communications, business operations, enterprise marketing, public relations, as well as customer and partner experience efforts.
“Golebiewski brings a wealth of experience in the areas of marketing and operations, which is vital for the subsidiary as we strive for greater productivity within a cloud-driven era,” said Raman.
“Coupled with an inclusive management style and a ‘can do’ attitude, I am confident that he’ll be able to take on any challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, leading the subsidiary to greater heights,” he added.
Golebiewski holds a degree in Electronics from Warsaw Technical University, and enjoys swimming, and reading books in his spare time.
