Executive promotions at Digi: New chief network officer, chief IT officer

DIGI Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has announced the appointment of two of its senior executives to its management team.
Kesavan Sivabalan (pic) will assume the position of chief network officer (CNO), and Orsolya Sekerka has been named chief IT officer with immediate effect, Digi said in a statement.
This follows the introduction of a refreshed Network, IT and Sales structures to drive deeper customer and quality focus, and stronger cohesion in delivering on its strategic ambition, the company said.
As part of these changes, the Customer Service and Customer Management functions will be aligned to the company’s Sales portfolio.
“We’ve built a solid foundation for the business, complete with a brand-new network, modernised IT assets and operations, and next-generation go-to-market models, systems and processes, to fuel future growth,” said newly-appointed chief executive officer Albern Murty.
“I believe the organisational changes we are putting in place will give us the edge to be even more focused in driving enhanced efficiencies and execute sharply on business critical initiatives,” he added.

As CNO, Kesavan – previously head of Technology Operations – will have a clear mandate to build a best-in-class network, and drive network quality, stability and security to further enhance customer experience, Digi said.
He is a highly experienced telecommunications executive with 20 years of industry experience across Asia Pacific markets.
Sekerka (pic) will have overall accountability for product development, project and portfolio management, as well as IT strategy and development.
Formerly Digi’s head of IT Development, she has deep experience managing IT development projects and operations, and joined Digi in 2013 from Telenor Hungary. She brings with her over 15 years’ experience with the Telenor Group.
