Mesiniaga wins US$42mil job from TM

IT solutions provider Mesiniaga Bhd has won an RM132.95-million (US$41.59-million) job from telecommunications giant Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM).

The contract came about two months after Mesiniaga had won an RM90-million (US$28.15-million) from TM for the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, post-acceptance maintenance and support services of TM’s new IP (Internet Protocol) core.

The latest contract, which is for the maintenance and support services of TM's IP core, is for a five-year period commencing Sept 1.

“The deal will not have any material effect on the group's net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2014, but is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings over the period of the contract,” Mesiniaga said in its filing to Bursa Malaysia on Aug 6 after it received the Letter of Award from TM.

Mesiniaga also highlighted that the risk of the job will be mainly related to meeting deadlines and the terms of service level commitments imposed by TM.
