U Mobile aims to add 2mil new customers with new campaign

• Comes after company announced network expansion rollout plan
• Promotions that reward customers when they switch to its services

U MOBILE Sdn Bhd has launched its ‘Vision 2 Million’ campaign, with which it aims to add two million new subscribers by Dec 31 2014.
 
The campaign comes in the wake of the company’s announcement of a network expansion rollout plan aimed at delivering better network quality and coverage with the addition of 1,000 3G (Third Generation) and 1,000 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/ Long-Term Evolution) sites.
 
Its new Vision 2 Million marketing campaign aims to encourage more consumers to jump onto the U Mobile bandwagon, the company said in a statement.
 
It has also committed to offer customers free ‘on-net’ calls and free Internet service for one day on Jan 1 2015 if it achieves its target by the end of 2014.
 
“We are optimistic about achieving our vision, and are ready to take on the challenge with a series of exciting activities, as well as attractive product offerings,” said its chief marketing officer Jasmine Lee.
 
“In light of the campaign, we are introducing brand new promotions that reward customers when they switch to our services, as well as our refreshed Friend Referral Programme,” she said.
 
To encourage mobile users to switch to U Mobile, the telco said it is refreshing its Mobile Number Portability (MNP) promotion by offering new prepaid customers free Internet services for one year.
 
Customers who switch to U Mobile prepaid services from Sept 16 onwards can enjoy one-year free 250MB high-speed mobile Internet for every RM30 top-up and above, along with free calls and other special benefits.
