PACKET One Networks Sdn Bhd (P1) said it has extended its 4G (Fourth Generation) network to the East Coast of West Malaysia, and East Malaysia.
Currently, communities within these areas are heavily dependent on pre-paid data connectivity via their smartphones, the company said in a statement.
This limitation restricts them from online content for business, education, entertainment and many other purposes, P1 said.
P1 said its expansion to these areas “marks a new beginning for the rural and suburban communities, as they disembark on a journey of hassle-free Internet services.”
“Customers in the East Coast and East Malaysia access the Internet similar to the way we in the urban areas do,” said its chief marketing officer Lai Shu Wei.
“However, their online activities are constrained by network coverage and data limit. Broadband should not be a privilege to any Malaysians as access to information is a right.
“Hence, we want to enable these communities so they too can be part of the current trends and technology advancement where information can be accessed at the click of a button,” he added.
These communities would be among the first to use P1’s DX825 modem (pic), the company said.
As an introductory package, P1 is offering free one-month subscription with zero upfront payment to all new subscribers. For more information, visit P1’s blog at blog.p1.com.my/.
