BROCADE has appointed Charlie Foo (pic) to the role of vice-president for Asia Pacific effective immediately, the networking solutions provider said in a statement.
Foo succeeds Deb Dutta and would be responsible for charting the company’s overall growth strategy across the region. He will be based in Singapore reporting directly into Ian Whiting, senior vice-president of Worldwide Sales.
An industry veteran with more than 20 years of sales management and leadership experience, Foo was most recently senior director of the Brocade Partner Business Group for APAC where he drove the company’s regional business strategy for growth and diversification, and led the partner strategy with distributors, resellers, OEMs and global systems integrators across the region.
He joined Brocade in January 2007. Prior to joining Brocade, Foo was regional director of Channel and Alliance for Asia Pacific/Japan at Veritas-Symantec. He also assumed senior regional leadership positions at IBM Corp (software Group, Asia Pacific), Compaq Computers Asia/Pacific and Singapore Computer Systems. He holds an MBA from the University of Dubuque, Iowa.
“I am excited to take on this new role to help further our success across the region by working closely with our customers and partners,” he said.
“We are looking forward to the opportunities that APAC brings in 2012, particularly in areas of big data analytics and cloud services where spending is expected to increase for the delivery of agile business services,” he said.
