Groupon gets into healthcare … no, really!

• New microsite helps consumers locate reliable and quality healthcare solutions
• All to be approved by the Medicine Advertisement Board, Ministry of Health

GROUPON Malaysia has introduced the all-new Groupon Healthcare portal for specialty deals designed to help consumers locate selective, affordable and quality healthcare solutions approved by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health.

With Groupon Healthcare, the company moves beyond providing customers with luxury products and services to offering them a growing number of markdowns on healthcare products and services such as heart scans, health screening, Helicobacter Pylori Test, Lasik eye surgery and even nutritional food supplements .

This would make much-needed medical solutions more easily accessible and affordable across the country, the company said in a statement.

“We hope that the new specialty deals site will further enhance the quality of our consumers’ lives as they can now optimize their time to seek and receive the care that they need more efficiently,” said Joel Neoh, Groupon Malaysia chief executive officer.

The new Groupon Healthcare microsite will also feature health-related deals for an extended period of 12 to 14 days instead of the usual five to seven days.

Additionally, all Groupon Healthcare offers will have an approved KKLIU number by the Medicine Advertisement Board, Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Groupon Malaysia is best known for offering a wide variety of goods and services including restaurant meals, spa visits and hotel stays.
