Acer's new Swift 3 is a lightweight workhorse
If you are a mobile worker who is constantly on the go and need a portable yet long lasting laptop that can last through a full workday then you just might consider the Acer Swift 3 as your next laptop.
Sporting a slim all-metal body that measures just 17.95mm thin, it is an ideal device for mobile computing and productivity on the go. Available either in silver, blue or pink, it is ready to go and easily fits in your favourite laptop bag.
Depending on your needs, Acer offers the Swift 3 with either 14-inch or 15.6-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 resolution) IPS display. The smaller version of the laptop weighs just 1.6kg while the larger one weighs marginally more at 2.1kg. Acer has claimed that the screen is comparatively larger than most other ultra-slim laptops on the market, Acer said.
For a better typing experience, you also get a backlit keyboard that is paired with a large 72mm touchpad for easy typing and navigation no matter where you work.
On the inside, the Swift 3 comes powered by Intel’s 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor coupled with Intel UHD Graphics 620 integrated graphics and a 256GB solid state drive.
The main difference between the two versions of the laptop is the smaller 14-inch version gets 4GB of DDR4 RAM while the larger 15.6-inch version gets 8GB of DDR4 RAM.
Where it really shines is its long lasting battery that Acer claims to last up to 10 hours of use thanks to its lower power consumption and efficient CPU performance. So you can literally leave your charger at home and get all your work done without any hassle or searching for a plug point.
It also uses the latest 2x2 MU-MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology that is claimed to offer three times faster download speeds, smoother streaming and all around better surfing experience.
Apart from that the Acer Swift 3 comes equipped with a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication paired with Windows Hello so you can log into Windows 10 without having to memorise a password.
Other features include a USB 3.1 Type-C port that supports fast data transfer, display out and ability to charge the laptop.
The Acer Swift 3 is available now with a starting price of RM3,399 and runs up to RM3,899 for the top-of-the-line version.
