ASUS Malaysia has announced the arrival of two of their latest ZenBook series notebooks: the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED and the ZenBook 13 OLED.
The former in particular is the recipient of the 2021 CES Innovation Awards, courtesy of its two-screen model that introduced the tilting ASUS ScreenPad Plus that is essentially a secondary touchscreen with a new auto-tilt meachanism.
The ZenBook 13 OLED, on the other hand, is touted as the world’s lightest 13-inch OLED ultraportable notebook, complete with an all-metal design.
In a statement, ASUS said the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED is a premium device, one that is powered by a high-performance 10th Gen Intel Core i9 processor that is coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU and 32GB of RAM.
This power is needed to make cross-screen workflows between the 14-inch 4K UHD main display and the ScreenPad Plus (both which have a brightness of 400 nits). Rounding up the specs is 1TB SSD for storage.
The main screen is a 4K OLED HDR NanoEdge touchscreen, which has a frameless four-sides slimbezel design and 93% screen-to-body ratio.
Being an OLED display, one can expect vivid colours and deep blacks – ASUS claimed it has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. That it also has PANTONE Validated certification means the device is suitable for graphic designers.
The secondary screen on the device is certainly the eye-stealer. But what’s unique here is that it automatically tilts upwards by a 9.5-degree angle, thus reducing glare and reflections.
This also has the effect of extended the main display for more ways to optimise and personalise workflows.
What more, when the laptop are placed on the supplied Duo Stand, the tilted display sits at a stylus-friendly angle, with both displays supporting the latest 4,096-pressure-level devices including the bundled ASUS Pen.
The secondary screen also has a resolution of 3,840 x 1,100.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED prices at a hefty US$3,875 (RM15,999), though a variant sporting an Intel Core i7 processor instead of the Core i9 is a little cheaper at US$3,148 (RM12,999). Both will be available now onwards at ASUS Official Stores and authorised dealers.

OLED on the ultraportable
The ZenBook 13 OLED, like its namesake, fits an OLED display on a 13-inch ultraportable device. This all-metal laptop features a four-sided OLED HDR NanoEdge display with an 88% screen-to-body ratio. This sits on a profile that is only 13.9mm thin, weighing 1.14kg.
Inside the laptop is the latest Intel 11th Gen Core i7 processors with 8GB of RAM, coupled with 512GB of SSD storage and WiFi 6 connectivity.
Despite the thin stature, the device supports HDMI connectivity, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB type-A and a micro SD card reader. ASUS claims that the laptop has 13 hours of battery life.
The ZenBook 13 OLED comes in two variants, one sporting a Core i7 processor and one with a Core i5. They are price at RM4,999 and RM4,299 respectively. Both are available from now.
