Huawei MatePad Pro arrives, targeting productivity users  THE Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6-inch tablet will be available in Malaysia from June 18 onwards. A productivity-centric device the likes of the iPad Pro, the MatePad Pro offers strong performances with a large screen and a suite of productivity tools and features, Huawei Technologies Co Ltd said in a statement

Powering the tablet is a Kirin 9000E processor, which Huawei says is more than capable of handling mobile productivity and entertainment apps. This is coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while a hefty 10,050mAh battery keeps it going.

The MatePad Pro 12.6-inch also supports 40W fast charging. Combine that with WiFi 6 support, the tablet has pretty much all the bells and whistles one would expect.

As for the display, the MatePad Pro sports a 12.6-inch OLED screen with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio. Surrounding the screen are tiny 1.6mm bezels. The tablet also features a colour accuracy rating that is attained by some pro-grade monitors, making this a suitable device for professionals.

Huawei MatePad Pro arrives, targeting productivity users  Paired with the screen are a eight Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and four microphones to round up its multimedia and video call capabilities. The tablet comes with an 8MP front-facing camera, alongside a 13MP main rear shooter that is coupled with an 8MP wide-angle lens and 3D depth sensing camera. This is all packed into a body weighing 609 grams and 6.7mm in thickness.

The MatePad Pro 12.6-inch runs HarmonyOS 2, Huawei’s operating system, and features productivity tools including new Tablet-PC Multi-Screen Collaboration capabilities.

For one, users can use Mirror Mode to mirror their Huawei smartphones onto the tablet, on top of easing file transfer and sharing between devices (including laptops) via a drag-and-drop interface, the company said.

Users can also opt to use the tablet with the upgraded Huawei M-Pencil, which features 9ms response rate and has 4,096 pressure sensitivity and tilt sensitivity.

It also works with the Huawei Smart Magnetic keyboard, which offers key travel of 1.3mm while supporting Bluetooth and wireless charging.

From now until June 17, the device is available for pre-order on HUAWEI Store Online, HUAWEI Experience Store, Lazada and Shopee.
