INTERNET television service iflix has announced exclusive collaborations with Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation which will see its content-streaming service pre-installed with bundled subscriptions on selected Samsung mobile devices.

This will start with Samsung’s new flagship tablet, the recently launched Galaxy Tab S2, iflix said in a statement.

“We are excited to offer Samsung’s huge customer base the opportunity to experience iflix’s revolutionary new Internet TV service,” said iflix Group chief operating officer and iflix Malaysia chief executive officer Azran Osman-Rani.

“We look forward to continuing to build our strategic partnership going forward,” he added.

Under the agreement, all Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets sold in Malaysia will come bundled with a 12-month iflix subscription at no additional charge.

Further, all Samsung flagship devices will include a pre-bundled six-month iflix subscription with each device purchase, and a three-month subscription for all other new devices with video-streaming capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in the Philippines starting from the week of Aug 22, and all such devices sold in the Philippines will come bundled with a three-month iflix subscription at no additional charge, if purchased on or before Dec 31, 2015.

“In this day and age, content consumption has shifted towards a more digital context,” said Lee Jui Siang, vice president, Mobile, IT & Digital Imaging at Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

“Our mobile users want access to content on the go, in a never-before-seen way that is more vivid, engaging and interactive,” he added.
