- Lightweight powerhouse is said to offer the best performance no matter where you go
- Full range of customisable options for the discerning gamer
JUST when you thought there was nothing else to look forward to this year, Illegear swoops in with a new gaming laptop. It recently took the wraps off its new 17.3-inch laptop variant under its S series, the S7 Elite.
The new S7 Elite measures just 24.89mm thin and weighs in at 3.1kg which is no mean feat for a laptop this large. Illegear has somehow managed to shave off another 5mm from the S7 Elite, making it slimmer than its predecessor.
Don’t worry about future-proofing your laptop, the S7 Elite has got you covered with Thunderbolt 3 ports that enable it to connect to an external GPU enclosure (sold separately) for added graphical power when you are gaming at home.
Underneath the hood, the S7 Elite is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with the option to upgrade to an i7-7820HK, for those who want to overclock their machines.
The S7 Elite’s display can be configured up to a brilliant 4K QFHD resolution display for an additional US$368 (RM1,499) while the base model comes with a Full HD resolution IPS display. Both the panels are certified with Nvidia G-Sync technology for smoother and uninterrupted gameplay.
Apart from that, you can customise the S7 Elite further with an Nvidia GTX1060 6GB or GTX1070 8GB graphics card and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. It comes with no shortage of ports to cater to your ever-growing storage needs. It comes with one SATA 3.0 slot, one M.2 SATA slot and one M.2 PCIe slot for accepting Solid State Drives.
The S7 Elite also has an RGG programmable backlit chiclet keyboard for comfortable typing and funky lighting effects. Audio-wise, the laptop has a slightly bigger 4w subwoofer and packs a bigger 66Wh battery despite its weight and size. Other features include an integrated fingerprint reader on the touchpad for added security.
Illegear’s S7 Elite is available on its website with a starting price of US$1794 (RM7,299) and that nets you the following specs- 17.3” FHD IPS (G-Sync), i7-7700HQ, GTX1060 6GB GDDR5, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz, 1TB 7200RPM Hitachi 2.5-inch Hard Drive, 120GB M.2 SATA Solid State Drive, Intel 8265 2x2 Wireless-AC, Windows 10 Home 64bit.
