Lenovo’s Yoga Book: In a class of its own

IF YOU are looking for a thin and lightweight tablet that is versatile and allows you to unleash your inner artist, then the Lenovo Yoga Book may be the device you are looking for.

The world’s number one PC maker recently unveiled its stylish 2-in-1 tablet/ laptop hybrid device that features a 10.1inch IPS LED touch display (1,920 x 1,200 resolution).

Lenovo claims the tablet is their thinnest and lightest to date, measuring just 4.05mm and weighing just 690g. Truly, this is a device that is well suited for mobile workers who are constantly on the go.

More than just a pretty face, the tablet’s claim to fame is its ability to switch between a drawing tablet and a regular notebook on the fly.

The Yoga Book will come in two variants with a choice between either a Windows 10 operating system or Android 6.0.

Both tablets feature the same form factor with the only difference being the Android variant has a longer battery life of up to 15 hours (compared to the Windows 10’s 13 hours) and has LTE connectivity using a Nano SIM.

When artistic inspiration strikes, users can use the stylus, called Real Pen, which gives you precision control like a traditional pen and paper, all without needing to recharge.

Even if you are not the artistic type, the Yoga Book also works as a smart paper pad that seamlessly digitises and saves your notes.

Open the Yoga Book with Windows in Type mode and the Halo keyboard comes on, offering haptic feedback and predictive text to type for more accurate typing

“Lenovo has always been at the forefront of innovation, having incorporated projectors into tablets and taking inspiration from a watchband hinge for the Yoga series,” said Lenovo Malaysia and Singapore general manager Khoo Hung Chan (pic above).

As far as specs go, the Yoga Book comes pre-installed with either the Windows 10 or Android 6.0 operating system and is powered by an Intel Atom (2.4GHz) x5-z8550 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage with the option of expanding up to 128GB with a microSD card.

The Lenovo Yoga Book is available now at RM2,599 for both the Windows 10 and Android models.
