- Oppo Find X to cost US$916
- Unique pop-up camera system gives the Find X massive screen
OPPO has wasted no time in bringing its flagship Find X smartphone to Malaysia, doing so in less than a month since its reveal in France.
Just to recap, the Find X is possibly one of the most unique flagship devices in the market right now with its slide mechanism that hides the phone’s front and rear cameras neatly. This allows the Find X to have a massive 6.4-inch Amoled display with no notch.
The Stealth 3D Camera, is a motorised camera pop-up system that allows users to unlock the phone with their face using the Find X’s 25-Megapixel selfie camera.
There is no fingerprint unlock feature on the phone, so this remains the sole way you can unlock the Find X using biometrics. Oppo claims the Face Unlock feature allows users to unlock their phone even in low light.
The rear-facing dual camera system offers 16-Megapixel and 20-Megapixel cameras that are complemented by Oppo’s AI scene detection that recognises over 21 different scenes.
On the inside, the Find X comes powered by a powerful Qualcomm 845 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
It has a 3,750mAh battery that is charged using USB Type-C and supports Oppo’s VOOC fast charge that gives it a full charge in 90 minutes. Oppo claims with just quick a five-minute charge, the Find X offers two hours of talk time.
Users will find that the Find X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s Color OS 5.1 running on top. It is one of the few phones to support Android P beta access for users curious to take a peek at the next version of Android.
Much like other smartphones in 2018, the Find X has Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities integrated to help optimise performance.
Oppo claims the Find X has an AI preload feature that predicts the apps you want to use by loading them in the background, allowing to be launched quicker.
The company added that it will be bringing in the Lamborghini special edition of the Find X that incorporates the sports car’s carbon fibre design.
The special edition phone boasts Super VOOC fast charging technology that is said to fully charge the phone in just 35 minutes.
Oppo however said there is no word on the price and availability of the special edition though it is slated to reach Malaysian shores eventually.
Oppo’s Find X will retail for US$916 (RM3,699) and will be available from Aug 5.
Pre-orders can be made from July 17 onwards offline at Oppo concept stores or online at the official Oppo website and e-commerce sites such as Lazada,11Street and Shopee.
