Oppo launches the Reno 5F in Malaysia OPPO has launched the Reno5 F in Malaysia, a mid-ranger with a quad-camera setup, new photo and video features, and 30W fast charging.

The device, priced at US$290 (RM1,199), is available starting April 15 in Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple colours, OPPO said in a statement.

Nikki Chen, marketing director of OPPO Malaysia, said that the Reno5 F is “the culmination of both user feedback and the extensive research conducted on the latest technology that’s being deployed.”

Key to this is the smartphone’s camera system, which is paired with video and photo features to “make fun with photography,” he added.

The Reno5 F features a quad-camera system headlined by a 48MP main shooter. Following suit is a 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP mono camera (to help with black and white photos). As for the front-facing camera, you’ll find a 32MP selfie shooter in a punch hole on the screen.

Accompanying the camera systems are features that include AI Colour Portrait Video, which allows the smartphone to intelligently distinguish people from background, OPPO claimed.

The phone then highlights the person with enhanced and bright colours while a monotone black or white filter is applied to the background, creating a neat bokeh effect.

Monochrome Video, on the other hand, highlights and enhances a single RGB colour in any shot. Essentially, you can recreate parts of Schindler’s List if you so wish.

Then there’s Dual-View Video, which records footage from both the front-facing and rear cameras simultaneously. This is for the vloggers to shoot an ongoing scene without removing yourself from the equation.

The photo and video features are supplemented by EIS Steady Video to keep things table. Things like Dynamic Bokeh and Night Flare Portrait are also present to add spice to photography.

The display on the Reno5 F is a 60Hz 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 . The fingerprint reader sits under the display, which touts a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the smartphone carries a MediaTek Helio P95 octa-core processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Powering the device is a 4,310mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology. Oppo claims that a five minute charge will provide users 2.9 hours of YouTube time.

OPPO Reno5 F is available starting from April 15 in Malaysia and prices at RM 1,199.
