LARGE smartphone batteries are commonplace these days but Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oukitel has announced a model with a massive 6,080mAh battery called the K6000 Plus.
Part of the Shenzen-headquartered company’s K series of long lasting phones, the company assures users that despite the larger than average battery, the K6000 Plus has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it is safe for usage.
The phone also supports 12V/2A fast charging that the phone maker claims to charge fully within 100 minutes. Even with five minutes of charging, Oukitel says the K6000 Plus would be able to last for two hours of talk time.
Oukitel is so confident of the phone’s massive battery capacity that it also doubles up as a powerbank for other devices.
In terms of build quality, the K6000 Plus features a full metallic body with a front mounted fingerprint scanner underneath its 5.5-inch full HD display.
Powered by a MediaTek 6750T octa-core processor, Oukitel says the handset is an energy efficient workhorse that is capable of handling both light and heavy tasks. Paired with 4Gb of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, users can still expand the memory up to 128GB with a MicroSD memory card.
Oukitel boasts the K6000 Plus’ 16-Megapixel Sony IMX298 sensor comes with Phase Detect Autofocus (PDAF) feature that quickly locks onto subjects while its F2.0 aperture is said to take sharp low-light photos.
Not forgetting the front 8-Megapixel camera, Oukitel says it has a wide 80-degree field of view to fit more subjects into the shot.
To top it all off the K6000 Plus will run on Android 7.0 Nougat, so Android fans can rest assured that it is running on the latest version of the operating system to date.
Oukitel says that K6000 Plus will be available in gray and gold and will be on sale in April at a suggested retail price of US$225 (RM999).
