The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite lands in Malaysia April 6

• Offers Snapdragon 732G, 64MP triple-rear camera under US$300
• Other features include a 90Hz AMOLED DotDisplay; 33W fast-charging

XIAOMI will launch the Mi 11 Lite smartphone in Malaysia, come April 6. The latest addition to the Mi 11 series is, by all intents and purposes, a scaled-down version of the base Mi 11 flagship.

It’s also much more affordable, pricing at US$289 (RM1,199) compared to the Mi 11’s US$739 (RM2,799) price tag, Xiaomi said in a statement.

The Mi 11 Lite is the first of the recently-announced Mi 11 versions to arrive in Malaysia, the other ones being the Mi 11 Ultra (the top-of-the-line flagship) and the Mi 11i (the sleeker brethren offering Dolby Atmos), both which local availability and pricing were not yet announced.

The Mi 11 Lite sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED DotDisplay with 10-bit TrueColour support. Its is not a 120Hz display as with the base Mi 11, but the Mi 11 Lite does provide 90Hz refresh and 240Hz touch sampling rate for smoother and more responsive navigation. It also comes with dual speakers.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon TM 732G processor, which is coupled with a 4,250mAh battery that supports 33W fast-charging. This is packed into a chassis hat is 6.81mm thick, weighing 157g. It doesn’t have the curved screen of the Mi 11, but does have ultra-slim bezels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Mi 11 Lite doesn’t come with the base Mi 11’s 108MP camera, but the triple-rear camera setup does include a 64MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and 5MP telemacro lens. Housed within the front screen is a 16MP selfie shooter, which Xiaomi said supports night mode as well as pro-level video modes and filters.

The Mi 11 Lite will be available in Malaysia at RM1,199, purchasable at Xiaomi’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as authorised Mi Stores and other official retailers nationwide.
