CSM chief Amirudin reappointed chairman of World Trustmark Alliance

• First time a WTA chairman has been reappointed, holds the post for 2015
• Also chairman or board member in various other security-related committees

CYBERSECURITY Malaysia (CSM) said that its chief executive officer Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab (pic) has been re-appointed chairman of the World Trustmark Alliance (WTA) for a second term.
 
Dr Amirudin has been chairing the WTA for 2014. This is the first time a chairman has been reappointed, CSM said in a statement.
 
“I consider this reappointment as recognition of CSM’s contribution to WTA as Chair. This achievement is also a tribute to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), which is committed to the development of ICT – especially the e-businesses and cyber security ecosystem in the country,” Amirudin said.
 
CSM is the national cybersecurity agency, and comes under the purview of MOSTI.
 
Amirudin also serves as a member of the e-Sovereignty Committee chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia; the national chairman of the Industry Standards Committee on Information Technology, Communications and Multimedia (ISC G); and chairman of the Impartial Committee for the Malaysian Software Testing Board (MTSB).
 
He is also a board member of the National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom) and is chairman of Pikom’s Information Security Committee; and also a board member of the Cloud Security Alliance, Malaysia Chapter. He is also an OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) Task Force Member on ICT and Cyber Security.
 
WTA aims to harmonise the standards and operational guidelines among the various brands of Trustmarks managed by its members by setting up a network of dispute resolutions among its member in order to improve dispute resolutions and problem-solving involving cross border e-business transactions.
