SEEK Asia appoints JobStreet’s Suresh Thiru as CEO

• SEEK acquired JobStreet in Nov 2014, already had rival jobsDB
• Since acquisition, industry vet has been working on integrating ops

ASX-listed SEEK Ltd subsidiary SEEK Asia has announced the appointment of JobStreet.com operations head Suresh Thiru (pic) as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective Jan 1.
 
In his new role, Suresh will be responsible for SEEK Asia’s key strategic directions, across the seven markets that the company operates in: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
 
SEEK Asia takes care of the Australian online recruitment company’s business in Asia, which now comprises the JobStreet.com and jobsDB business.
 
Suresh joined JobStreet.com in 2000 as vice president of operations, and was responsible for the overall operations and customer care of the group. He was instrumental in the creation of the leading online employment business in the region, SEEK Asia said in a statement.
 
Since the acquisition of JobStreet.com by SEEK Ltd in November 2014, Suresh has been a major contributor to the SEEK Asia executive team on the new strategy, company direction and development of the SEEK Asia culture and way of work, the company added.
 
As the newly appointed CEO, Suresh will continue to support the integration between JobStreet.com and jobsDB.
 
“I feel very privileged and excited to be entrusted to lead the SEEK Asia organisation as its CEO,” said Suresh.
 
“We have already been very successful in the markets we operate in. However, there is still a lot of work to do on the integration front, taking our business to the next level, and making sure we stay ahead of competitors.
 
“With the right strategy in place, I am confident that we will achieve this with the support of an entire organisation of very dedicated people,” he added.
