SINGAPORE-headquartered website backup service provider Dropmysite said it has partnered with Brazilian Internet service provider Cipnet Serviços de Internet to provide its service to the latter’s customers.
Thanks to high Internet penetration rates, Brazil has become a booming market for affordable mobile devices and an increasingly digital culture, Dropmysite said in a statement.
This, and an increase in e-commerce, makes protecting and the backing up of websites and databases a critical requirement for businesses, it added.
Cipnet will provide service and support to all Brazilian customers in the Portuguese language.
“With millions of sites getting hacked yearly, Dropmysite solves a real problem in backing up websites and databases,” said Dropmysite chief executive officer Charif El Ansari (pic).
“Brazil has been a rising star in terms of growth of Internet penetration and e-commerce, hence we are very excited about serving this really important market through our partnership with Cipnet.” He added.
As part of this partnership Cipnet will resell Dropmysite as a value-added service. Cipnet will provide the backup service to its server- and domain-hosting customers.
The service will come with advanced features like automated / customisable website and database backup, secure AES-256 encryption, backup downloads, website availability monitoring and performance reports.
“Backup is a must-have feature for a high-availability and premium service, and we found in Dropmysite a very easy and simple way to make sure that our clients’ websites and databases are backed up safely,” said Cipnet director Marcelo Ayala.
“With Dropmysite we can have the peace of mind that our clients can keep running their business even if something bad happens to their websites,” he added.
In June, Dropmysite signed a similar agreement with Indian-based Internet service provider ZNetLive to provide the backup service in the subcontinent.
