I Synergy’s Affiliate Junction moves into new growth phase

- To drive retail revenue growth at least 10x for over 9,000 businesses
- New tech enhancements, to roll out Affiliate Junction into overseas markets
I SYNERGY Universal Sdn Bhd, which developed and manages the Affiliate Junction (AJ) affiliate network in Malaysia that offers performance-based affiliate marketing solutions, has announced that it is now moving into the third phase of business growth.
The company has new plans to increase retail revenue for its nearly 9,000 affiliates and over 700 merchants, and plans to roll out Affiliate Junction into overseas markets, starting with Indonesia this year, I Synergy said in a statement.
“In the first two growth phases of the company, we focused more on establishing the company’s setup as well as building the affiliate network with a strong base of affiliates,” said IS Group of Companies group chief executive officer Lawrence Teo.
“Now that we have accomplished both, we are moving into the next phase of encouraging a more dynamic and high-transaction ecosystem for our merchants and affiliates,” he said at the AJ Phase 3 soft launch in Putrajaya recently.
Affiliate Junction’s anchor MyKad Smart Shopper Programme (MSSP) is a multi-merchant retail affiliate programme that uses MyKad as members’ identification. MyKad is Malaysia’s chip-based identity card.
Under the MSSP, members can get membership privileges, while AJ affiliates who refer these members to the merchants get incentives. A new incentive mechanism has also been introduced.
In its third phase, AJ will be introducing technology enhancements to further enrich the delivery of MSSP to its network of affiliates, merchants and MSSP members, I Synergy said.
Merchants can also now use wireless Electronic Data Capture (EDC) terminals instead of desktop computers. These MSSP Terminals are programmed with proprietary MSSP functions to securely capture member retail transactions and facilitate redemptions, the company claimed.
Other enhancements to the system include introducing online referral links and QR codes to speed up the MSSP member activation process, enabling consumers to self-register on the MSSP Portal online just by clicking on the referral links or scanning QR codes given to them by AJ affiliates.
“We are confident that these enhancements can help boost retail revenue for our existing network of affiliates and merchants as well as drive stronger participation for others to join our programme,” said Teo.
“As an added incentive for merchants to come on board MSSP, we are waiving the RM2,550 (US$) joining fee for the first 1,000 merchants who sign up,” he added.
