KL to host Pitch Day for fintech startups

STARTUPBOOTCAMP FinTech, an accelerator focused on financial innovation and part of the global award-winning Startupbootcamp accelerator, has announced a Pitch Day in Kuala Lumpur.

Focused purely on fintech (financial services technology) startups in the region, the one-day event is open to innovative early stage startups in the fintech industry, looking for recognition and exposure.

Ten startups will be chosen for their cutting-edge and visionary innovations, and be given the opportunity to learn more about the 13-week Startupbootcamp FinTech accelerator programme in London or Singapore, said the company in a statement.

Technology accelerator 1337 Ventures partners with Startupbootcamp FinTech for the first time to run Pitch Day on March 3, 2015, at 1337 Ventures, Megan Avenue, Kuala Lumpur.

Startupbootcamp FinTech is looking for top-notch fintech startups to present their venture, for the chance to connect with local mentors, investors and banking professionals in the community. Pitch Days are pre-screening days and by applying, startups will get access to the Startupbootcamp FinTech global community and be on the accelerator’s radar.

Each receives invaluable feedback on how to improve their product, business model and pitching skills. After a number of Pitch Days across the region, Startupbootcamp FinTech will select 10 startups who will gain access to Asian, US and European markets through the Startupbootcamp FinTech accelerator programme, accelerating them to growth stage.

The award-winning accelerator offers fintech startups access to industry expertise during an intensive three-month programme. At the end of the programme, startups pitch at Demo Day to more than 250 investors.

Markus Gnirck, co-founder and global chief operating officer (COO) of Startupbootcamp FinTech, said: “We’re looking forward to discovering the innovation happening within KL’s Finch ecosystem and meeting local entrepreneurs to see how we can help them scale their businesses globally.”
