PT. MOL AccessPortal (MOL Indonesia), has announced a strategic partnership with one of Indonesia’s leading retailers, PT. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk, to sell MOLPoints online game vouchers in the latter’s Alfamart and Alfamidi outlets.
MOL Indonesia is a subsidiary of MOL Global Pte Ltd, which owns the Friendster social network. The partnership will extend MOL Global’s footprint in Indonesia and strengthen its position as the leading regional e-payment service provider for online games and beyond, MOL Global said in a statement.
MOL Global’s senior vice president for International Business Development Rivai Adidharma said the country’s rapid development in e-commerce and e-payment services has made Indonesia one of the fastest growing markets in South-East Asia.
“The opportunity for growth in the online game industry in Indonesia is tremendous. We can see that over the past decade more than 90 game developers and publishers have established their foothold in Indonesia.
“This strategic partnership will provide the industry with a world class e-payment solution that will deliver a convenient payment option to 15 million online game enthusiasts in Indonesia,” Rivai said.
In March, MOL Indonesia acquired AyoPay, a leading payment service provider in Indonesia that specializes in online game credits.
MOL Indonesia country manager Patrick Setiawan (pic) said that MOL Indonesia, Alfamart and Alfamidi hold many synonymous values and believe in bringing convenience, value for money and safe payment solutions for their users.
“The integration of our respective solutions creates a comprehensive e-payment option that will directly benefit merchants and online gamers across the country,” he added.
PT. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk said it is confident that the strategic partnership will help to simplify and facilitate the payment option of choice for Indonesian online gamers.
