10 startups shortlisted for Alpha Startups MyFintech Week 2022 by Bank Negara and 1337 Ventures

• Top two will receive US$33k from 1337 Ventures
• 50% filling fintech gaps, balance looking at financial issues

Startups innovating through financial services and digitalisation of financial solutions make up the 10 finalists shortlisted for the Alpha Startups™ MyFintech Week 2022.

Alpha Startups, co-organised by 1337 Ventures and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and supported by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is an accelerator programme hosted in support of MyFintech Week 2022.

The programme seeks to develop and showcase an exciting array of fintech solutions to help propel Malaysia’s sustainability agenda in a post-pandemic era, particularly in the areas of Financial Health, Inclusion and SME Digitalisation.

“Half of the top 10 are filling the gap of financial technologies within the realm of SME digitalisation - an issue we shared on our Fintech report. The other half are focused on Financial Health challenges,” shared Bikesh Lakhmichand (pic), 1337 Ventures CEO & Founding Partner.

“I’m confident that the audience present at the demo day will find these startups fascinating. We ourselves can’t wait to raise funds for some of the teams by the end of the programme,” he added.

The top 10 will now participate in the MyFintech Week Demo Day to showcase their business plan to an audience of potential investors, corporates, government agencies and industry leaders.

The top 2 teams will have 1337 Ventures invest RM150,000 and help them raise their current funding round with an additional RM50,000 cash prize from Bank Negara and MDEC.

These are the shortlisted startups that will be presenting at the demo day:

Adam Money Service

du-it provides instalment solution to businesses using the 'Buy Now, Pay Later" business model to address the supply chain financing gap by leveraging on our collective experience of more than 20 years serving the financial services industry with regards to technology development.

Alfie Tech

Alfie builds alternative credit scoring models using smartphone-derived data to predict the likelihood of default of borrowers that are excluded from the formal banking system and offers digital microfinance services to them using Islamic Finance.  

BlueDuck

BlueDuck is reducing the burden of tenants ranging from residential to industrial by enabling zero deposit rental and enabling end-to-end rental management system with widest distribution network in Malaysia.

Finory

Finory help Malaysian to manage all their credit cards and cash flow in one place by just forwarding their card and bank statements to the app.

Koha Digital

Koha Digital provides easy and accessible digital legacy planning for individuals and helps them to protect and preserve their family financial future.
