3 initiatives for entrepreneurs, startups

• Programmes are ICE71 Inspire, ICE71 Accelerate and Ocean of Opportunities Challenge

NUS Enterprise along with its partners is organising and supporting three initiatives aimed at entrepreneurs and startups.

ICE71 Inspire

This is a one-week programme for entrepreneurs (and entrepreneur-wannabes) to qualify the feasibility and commercial viability of their business ideas.

It involves an intensive bootcamp conducted by CyLon (a leading European cyber-security accelerator), featuring workshops on technical development, business fundamentals and team building.

After the bootcamp, participants will receive guidance and mentoring over a three-month period. The closing date for registration is June 13, 2018 with the bootcamp happening from July 2-6, 2018.

ICE71 Accelerate

This is a three-month accelerator programme for early-stage cyber-security startups, to help them achieve product-market fit.

The programme is also run by CyLon, and will help companies sharpen their value proposition, go to market strategies and commercial models.

Participants will receive capital funding, and have access to mentors, enterprise-grade cyber-security resources and marketing channels.

The closing date for registration is June 13, and the programme starts on July 16, 2018.

ICE71 Inspire and ICE71 Accelerate are programmes under the Innovation Cybersecurity Ecosystem at Block71, the region’s first cyber-security start-up hub founded by NUS Enterprise and Singtel Innov8, with support by CSA Singapore and IMDA. https://ice71.sg/programmes/

Ocean of Opportunities Challenge

This is a challenge for entrepreneurs and innovators to propose new ideas that can help modernise the container shipping industry.

Seven challenge statements have been identified in areas including smart underwater inspection, container tracking, ship connectivity and fuel price analytics. Cash prizes ($5000, $2000 and $1000) will be offered to winning teams, and mentorship to selected teams.

The closing date for proposal submission is June 13, with pitching occurring on June 6, at Innovfest unbound 2018. This Challenge is organised by Symphony Creative Solutions, in partnership with Ocean Network Express and supported by NUS Enterprise.
