Backup specialist Acronis launches special package for startups

• Special package only available for Tech in Asia conference participants
• Includes Acronis Backup to Cloud 500GB, Acronis Access Advanced, etc.

ACRONIS has announced the launch of a special data backup package programme called Startup Package for early stage technology companies.
 
The package includes Acronis Backup Advanced for Windows Server, Acronis Backup to Cloud 500GB, and Acronis Access Advanced for one year and up to 10 users, the company said in a statement.
 
The package was launched on the sidelines of the two-day Tech in Asia conference in Singapore, and is only available to conference participants (see below).
 
Most small and medium businesses (SMBs) are aware of the importance of data protection, Acronis said.
 
However, due to accelerating data growth rates, budget constraints, reliance on outmoded technology and other factors, many SMBs do not have adequate data protection.
 
Citing the Symantec 2012 SMB Disaster Preparedness Survey, Acronis noted that almost 75% of SMBs have no disaster recovery plan, and only about 25% are ‘extremely confident’ about their ability to restore data in an emergency.
 
About half of SMBs back up less than 60% of their data, leaving the rest vulnerable to loss at any time, it added, citing the Symantec 2011 SMB Disaster Preparedness Survey.
 
These gaps in data protection are among the key drivers leading SMBs to embrace cloud backup solution. But while cloud backup is often the most affordable, reliable, and efficient data protection solution for SMBs, choosing the right provider for your specific business needs can be a challenge, Acronis said in its statement.

The special backup, cloud, disaster recovery and mobile file sharing and sync all in one startup package programme is available to all startups or early stage technology companies with Internet-dependent, big data-related and/ or cloud-based services.
 
They should also be a member of an incubator, accelerator or startup community that Acronis partners with, such as Runa Capital or Tech in Asia. They also have to be a startup registered at the Tech in Asia Singapore conference and have to purchase this within three months.
