Cradle Seed Ventures names Juliana Jan as acting CEO

• Has more than 15 years experience, including a decade in venture capital funding
• Has right operational, management & leadership skills to provide necessary stewardship

Moving quickly to fill the leadership vacuum left by its departing CEO Dzuleira Abu Bakar, Cradle Seed Ventures (CSV), the venture capital arm of Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle) announced yesterday the appointment of Juliana Jan (pic) as its acting chief executive officer effective immediately from 15 April 2019.

Dzuleira Abu Bakar has joined the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre as its CEO. On behalf of CSV’s board members, Razif Abdul Aziz, acting group CEO of Cradle thanked Dzuleira for her 2 ½ years service.

“Dzuleira has made significant contributions to CSVs evolution as a VC player. She successfully built CSVs presence in the market and driven growth. She has been a tremendous asset to CSV and we are grateful for her many contributions. We wish her the very best.”

Described as a technology visionary with a proven track record of execution, CSV will continue its operations under the able stewardship of Juliana. The chief investment officer of Cradle, before stepping into the acting CEO role, Juliana has more than 15 years of senior management experience, including a decade of involvement in venture capital funding as well as in market research and grants.

Cradle describes her as a leader who understands the needs of the market and the issues in the funding ecosystem from prototype development in the pre-seed stage, the seed stage, and the later stages of fund raising.

Juliana has been with Cradle since 2004 and is very passionate about helping entrepreneurs and startups. The knowledge and skills she gained from the beginning of her career have been invaluable in enabling her to assist entrepreneurs to achieve their goals.
