Launch of Digital Transformation Exchange to help companies innovate

LARGE corporations and SMEs will soon have even greater access to innovative technologies and networks from Singapore’s tech startup community.

The Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), a national-led private organisation to help drive entrepreneurship in Singapore, has launched the Digital Transformation Exchange (DTE) initiative, a series of events to help corporates and SMEs connect and understand current digital platforms from startups who are at the forefront of innovation and technology.

The initiative was launched on April 26 by Minister of State, Ministry of Manpower & Mayor, North East CDC Teo Ser Luck.

Each session will have a thematic sectorial focus, covering areas such as cyber security, data analytics, and education technology.

Startups will share about upcoming trends, opportunities and challenges in their areas of expertise.

The inaugural session, held on April 26, 2017, focused on human resource (HR) technologies and human capital solutions.

ACE executive director Phan Ching Chong says, “This initiative will help to facilitate knowledge and mutually beneficial exchanges between startups and larger companies. In today’s global and fast-paced marketplace, businesses will need to continually leverage on upcoming trends and technologies to stay competitive.

Through this series, SMEs and corporations can learn from startups on how they can leverage on the latest technologies and tools to stay competitive.”

Teo emphasised the need for businesses to build digital capabilities, “As we prepare for the future, it is important to harness innovative solutions and make them pervasive across all sectors. This will not only transform companies, but also strengthen sectors such that more quality jobs can be created for our workers.

“The Digital Transformation Exchange is a platform that can help businesses to do so, and I am very pleased that ACE has launched this to help champion and support innovation among Singapore companies.”

The six startups that presented were: EngageRocket, an employee engagement platform, Talenox, a cloud-based HR management tool, Mimetic, an AI based virtual assistant for scheduling meetings, Hackertrail, a pre-assessed candidate platform, SalaryBoard, an online platform for salary review, and Hearti, a benefits and wellness platform for employees.

Local startups and businesses can look forward to future sessions organised by ACE and are encouraged to register their interest as participants at www.ace.org.sg

ACE was launched in 2003 by the Ministry of Trade & Industry as a national effort to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Singapore.

It was re-restructured in 2014 as a private-led initiative supported by the government to continue its national mandate to drive entrepreneurship initiatives in Singapore.

The Minister of State for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade & Industry, Dr Koh Poh Koon is patron.

Working closely with SPRING Singapore, ACE is guided by a board of directors that comprises of entrepreneurs and professionals who are immersed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
