Cybercriminals are making increasing use of what is called ‘mobile app collusion,’ where they make use of communications between apps to manipulate two or more apps to orchestrate attacks on smartphone owners, according to Intel Security.
165% surge in new ransomware in Q1 2015: McAfee Labs
In the first quarter of 2015, McAfee Labs registered a 165% increase in new ransomware driven largely by the new, hard-to-detect CTB-Locker ransomware family, a new ransomware family called Teslacrypt, and the emergence of new versions of CryptoWall, TorrentLocker, and BandarChor.
