Ministry to PC makers: 'Play your part in curbing malware'

63% of counterfeits infected with malware, claims Microsoft
Microsoft Corp has unveiled the results of a South-East Asia internal computer security study which found that 63% of counterfeit software DVDs and laptop computers with illegal copies of Windows and other software contained high-risk malware infections and viruses.
Piracy rate dips, but Malaysians think illegal software is okay
While the software piracy rate in Malaysia took a slight dip to 55% in 2011 from 56% in 2010, anti-piracy watchdog the Business Software Alliance (BSA) may still have an uphill battle on its hands with most Malaysians having no qualms about using illegal software.
