Worldwide tablet growth expected to slow to 7.2% in 2014: IDC
The worldwide tablet market is expected to see a massive deceleration in 2014 with year-over-year growth slowing to 7.2%, down from 52.5% in 2013, according to a new forecast from International Data Corporation (IDC).
Global PC shipments to decline 8.4%, tablets up 53.4%: Gartner
Worldwide combined shipments of devices (PCs, tablets and mobile phones) are projected to reach 2.32 billion units in 2013, a 4.5% increase from 2012, according to Gartner Inc. The market is being driven by a shift to lower-priced devices in nearly all device categories.
