- Malaysia Google Certification Program (GCP) Challenge to take place from Nov 26 to Dec 23
- Aims to double the number of certified professionals for Google AdWords in Malaysia
GOOGLE Malaysia has launched its Malaysia Google Certification Program (GCP) Challenge for search engine marketing platform AdWords in a bid to increase the number of certified professionals in the market.
The Malaysia GCP Challenge is slated to take place from Nov 26 to Dec 23, 2012 and as part of the challenge Google will be rewarding the top three candidates who pass both the Google Advertising Fundamentals and Search Advertising Advanced examinations with either a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or a Samsung Galaxy S3.
Deon Moh (pic), small medium business marketing manager for Google Malaysia, said that GCP is a globally recognized program and this qualification indicates an achievement of standard knowledge of AdWords which an individual can include in his or her resume.
The GCP aims to help web professionals improve their theory and practical application of Google AdWords. After passing the required examinations, successful candidates will receive a certificate verifying their achievement. They will also have an Individual Profile page that is shareable with interested parties.
“AdWords is a self-service advertising program and we have plenty of tools and tutorials to help the execution of a campaign. However, being certified provides additional credibility and ensures the Qualified Individual is up to date with current releases,” he added.
When asked how many professionals in the country were certified, Moh said the company does not have an absolute number of the current Qualified Individuals as the certification is an annual one.
“If we were to give a rough estimate, it would be less than 30 Qualified Individuals right now in all the local agencies. We are hoping to double the number through this challenge,” he said.
