KDU deploys Oracle’s PeopleSoft campus solutions

• Malaysian university streamlines administrative and academic systems
• Legacy system was unable to provide a holistic view of student activities

KDU University College said it has deployed Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to streamline its operational processes to improve ‘student lifecycle management.’ Financial terms were not disclosed.
 
Faced with an expected growth in its student population, it was critical that KDU streamline its administrative and academic systems, said its Vice Chancellor Professor Khong Yoon Loong (pic).
 
“With Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, KDU is now able to make information more readily available to all of our students, faculties, and staff under a fully integrated environment,” he said in a statement issued by Oracle.
 
The university’s legacy information management system was unable to provide a holistic view of student activities because of the fragmented information from multiple campus departments, Oracle said in its statement.
 
It also took a long time for student admission processing, which subsequently hindered users’ access to real-time and updated enrolment information.
 
By deploying Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, KDU has improved its student lifecycle management with more convenient learning modes and streamlined student information systems, from enrolment to alumni management, Oracle claimed.
 
The Oracle solutions feature a user interface that promotes student engagement and collaboration. With communications and feedback mechanisms, the university can gain insights to help students achieve their goals, the company added.
 
“Oracle has a long history of supporting education institutions around the world,” said Oracle Malaysia country manager of Applications, Nik Feizal Haidi Hanafi.
 
“Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions … have provided KDU a stable foundation with greater flexibility and agility to support institutional programme requirements, further improving the overall student experience,” he added.
 
Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules include Recruiting and Admissions, Student Records, Gradebook, Campus Community, Self Service, and Student Financials.
