LINKSYS has announced its re-entry into the small and medium business (SMB) marketplace with the launch of a full suite of business-oriented networking solutions.
These solutions can provide scalable, reliable and secure functionalities to meet the growing demands of a modern workforce, the company said in a statement.
The all-new range includes seven unmanaged switches, six smart switches, two VPN (virtual private network) routers, four full HD IP (high-definition Internet Protocol) surveillance cameras, a network video recorder, two Wireless-N WiFi Access Points and two Wireless-AC WiFi Access Points (APs).
Linksys was founded in 1988, then bought by Cisco in 2003 and ultimately sold to Belkin in 2013.
Reviving its history as a provider of SMB networking infrastructure, Linksys is offering a purpose-built portfolio of business networking and security products for SMBs and resellers, it said in its statement.
“99% of all enterprises in Singapore today are SMEs (small and medium enterprises), and they contribute close to half of the national GDP (gross domestic product),” said Tang Boon Ping, director of Asia at Linksys.
“For this vast and still-growing number of businesses, our newly re-introduced range of business-oriented products presents a complete and cost-effective solution.
“Our extensive knowledge of the needs of a small office environment enables us to create products and technologies that painlessly and efficiently support the business to keep it running smoothly,” Tang claimed.
The new product suite marks the first of three phases in Linksys’ re-entry into the SMB market, with the initial offering of core networking and security products.
The second phase will involve the implementation of a smart cloud-based networking management platform, paving the way for a third phase of full office automation solutions, the company said.
