CATCHA Group’s South-East Asian Internet TV service startup iflix said it has entered an agreement with Vimond Media Solutions for continued development of its Internet TV platform.
Bergen, Norway-based Vimond will work with iflix to power and grow the online and mobile Internet TV service’s technology across all markets, iflix said in a statement.
Vimond will provide a managed service for iflix based on its online video platform, and provide operational expertise gained from more than 15 years in the broadcasting and online TV industries, it added.

“Given the wealth of content and cultures in the South-East Asian market, we needed a strong partner that would seamlessly be able to handle multiple content ingest points and multiple distribution points in several languages and formats,” said iflix chief executive officer Mark Britt (pic).
In order to support iflix, Vimond will establish a regional operations centre in Kuala Lumpur.
“We see enormous potential in this market and believe iflix will change the landscape very quickly, and we are ready to be a part of this change,” said Vimond chief executive officer Helge Høibraaten.
iflix is a partnership between Kuala Lumpur-based Internet investment firm Catcha Group and Hollywood’s Evolution Media Capital.
